Milton F. Fillius Jr. was born in Rochester, NY on November 17, 1922. As a youth he developed a love for swing music and played drums in a number of bands with his high school friends. Milt is a 1944 graduate of Hamilton College and a member of the "crazy mixed up years" comprised of the Hamilton men who served their country during World War II. Milt achieved great success in the world of business and took an active role in numerous civic and charitable organizations. Throughout his life he has been an ardent fan and patron of jazz and it was his vision that made the Hamilton College Jazz Archive a reality.
