Eddie Alley was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 19, 1910. His family moved to San Francisco while Eddie was a young man and the name Alley is now synonymous with music in the Bay Area. Throughout his life, Eddie played a role in the jazz and popular music scene as a drummer, band leader and musical contractor. He counts numerous jazz legends as friends and former bandmates.
The Fillius Jazz Archive has made a reasonable effort to secure permission from the interviewees to make these materials available to the public.
