Houston Person is a tenor saxophonist who is equally comfortable in a jazz quartet or with an organ based trio that leans towards R&B. Born in 1934, Houston grew up in South Carolina and was fortunate to play with future jazz greats Eddie Harris and Cedar Walton while in the military. He later attended the Hartt School of Music and toured with a number of organ trios. Houston has recorded numerous albums as a leader and enjoys a long time collaboration with singer Etta Jones.
